Nehemiah
Welcome to the Nehemiah website. Nehemiah is a charity set up to help people overcome life controlling issues and go on to fulfil their potential in life. Our main programme is residential, based across several beautiful properties in South London. We also offer a number of less intensive courses to the local community.
Nehemiah was set up in 1990 by an American couple, Wendell and Lois Smith, as they felt called to reach out to the people of London. It was developed to help people from all over the country change direction and find new life.
The Programme
The programme blends three powerful and effective concepts to bring wholeness and freedom to the participants:
- Counselling & teaching to help people address issues from their past and embrace hope for their future.
- Theraputic community to help build new relationships and experience genuine change at a practical level.
- Work based training to develop vocational skills, self esteem and a new sense of achievement.
